The Portuguese Society for Analytic Philosophy was created in September 2004 with the aim of promoting philosophy as practiced in the analytic tradition in Portugal, and of contributing to the greater involvement of Portuguese philosophers with their international peers working in the analytic tradition.
SPFA promotes a Graduate Workshop for Analytic Philosophy (OFA) and the National Meeting for Analytic Philosophy (ENFA) that takes place every three years. SPFA is member of the European Society for Analytic Philosophy. The society also promotes other events in the country. |
ENFA 9 took place in July 2024 at the NOVA University of Lisbon.
ENFA 8 took place in September 2022 at the University of Porto. ENFA 7 took place in September 2018 at the University of Lisbon. OFA 13 took place in November 2023 at the NOVA University of Lisbon. OFA 12 took place in April 2021 at the University of Porto. OFA 11 took place in February 2017 at the University of Lisbon. SPFA supports the organization of the Latin Meeting for Analytic Philosophy. The latest Latin Meeting took place in Milan, dedicated to the topic Philosophical Puzzles. SPFA also supports the Portuguese Congress of Philosophy, together with other academic societies, institutions, and research groups. SPFA is a member of the European Society for Analytic Philosophy. SPFA is also an institutional member of ALFAn, the Latin American Society for Analytic Philosophy. |
